E3 PV will reveal bunch of new comers like the Brawl's first PV. It wasn't like Chrom but personally I felt the developers are messing around with Elma. is an all-rounder uses her dual swords and dual guns. But she is annoying since she uses Soul Voice system from Xenoblade Chronicles X. Her Soul Voice like "It's time to use side smash!" (the volume is loud so she stands out) will come out with various moves. It'll buff her up or debuff the opponents. You can turn off her Soul Voice but when you turn it on she is so annoying. Elma 1on1 is noizy but when you play with 4 Elmas it will be a hell. Personally she is in A rank so I think people will use her a lot.

Sakurai is into Xenoblade franchise. His favourite is Rex but he also likes Elma. Nintendo higher ups like Elma so they decided to put her. The idea of her Soul Voice is from the higher ups. Sakurai was planning her as a combo character. I think both would work. Sakurai stopped to mess around too much with her in PVs. And he decided to include her true form as an alternate costume. E3 PV won't mess around with her too much but there are footages to show each characters battle style. Elma got beaten hard in that footage. It's a parody of the characters Houko Kuwashima plays (Elma's Japanese voice actor). I think it was a parody of the PV of XCX too. There was a line saying something like "I managed to survive today too" due to the concept of XCX but it got rejected.

I leak that the character image list guy jumped on Emily Rogers was somehow got all correct. Old veterans including ganondorf did not get any overhauls in the slightest so you better prepare for that. The OP character for now is Takamaru. He is a long range samurai swordman with multiple projectiles just like in his original game. And he has a fairly good recovery about same as lucario in Brawl. King K. Rool is in mid tier though his playing dead move is quite OP which makes him invincible for a short time with low ending lag. Takamaru's voice actor is not Tomokazu Sugita but Toshihiko Seki.

The broken character for now is Luigi. He has good jumps with great Up B and Down B. And his Side B now able to input up or down directions (pikachu got that too). His fireball is now ice ball. It's good for a feint and can freeze the opponent. The restraint time changes due to the percentage. Higher, longer. Similar to Sub-Zero's ice ball from Mortal Kombat. He can attack and run almighty character now since Melee's wavedash returns for side dodge. Mario is strong too so don't worry.

I think the character image list person was an actual worker. Akio Otsuka plays Samurai Goroh so he recorded new codec conversations too (he is the Japanese voice actor for Snake). Elma's voice actor Houko Kuwashima has recordings too so there will be conversations with Kuwashima's characters from Metalgear too (she plays Mei Ling and the paramedic).

Nintendo's higher ups are involved with the roster of this smash. They had meetings who to include or not to with various related parties including Sakurai. Maybe there will be DLC for the considerations. Maybe Takamaru's inclusion is not to represent retros but for the reboot Murasame castle in rumors. There was a Smash 4 leak claims the inclusion of Chorus Men right? Sakurai was actually pushing for it but didn't make in. This time he got go from the higher ups. Sakurai's favourite was Rex who can switch between Pyra for power and Mythra for speed. But the higher ups decided to include Elma instead.
